HP Photosmart Premium with WEPrinter Review

HP has recently introduced the HP Photosmart Premium with TouchSmart Web, the world's first web-connected home printer.
I was contacted to see if I wanted to review the HP Photosmart Premium with TouchSmart Web. I was so excited to do the review! I did not have a printer that worked, so I was always emailing my mom anytime I needed something printed. The HP Photosmart Premium with TouchSmart Web (what a mouthful!) seriously rocks my world.

First of all, the set-up was so simple. It came out of the box in one piece (and inside a giant reusable bag-yay!) and I only had to connect two wires. (Three if I wanted to hook it up to a phone line for fax.) The set-up directions were made up of four steps. So simple. After I plugged it in, the rest of the instructions were played on the Touchsmart panel. The Touchsmart panel is pretty much exactly how it sounds. All the buttons are on a touch screen (more about this later.)

One of my favorite things about the HP Photosmart Premium with TouchSmart Web is that it's completely wireless. I can have my laptop in any room of the house, and if I want to print something, no problems! I just send the document to the printer and it prints. I love that I'm not tied down by wires.

We all know how much of a picture freak I am. Well my mom is 10 times worse! And she's a scrapbooker. She is always asking me for copies of several of the hundreds of pictures I take of Max. Now I can print copies immediately, because the HP Photosmart Premium with TouchSmart Web prints out professional quality prints. There is a separate tray for 4x6 photo paper, and I definitely will be able to test out the quality of this printer, because I am printing pictures non-stop. I just can't get over the quality of the pictures.

I was blown away by the HP Photosmart Premium with TouchSmart Web when I learned that you don't even need a computer to use it. What?! Through the Touchsmart control panel, you have access to tons of applications including:
  • Disney- print color pages and crafts with popular animated characters as well recipes for the family
  • CNET.com- print product reviews, editors picks and gift guides; 60 MINUTES to print story transcripts
  • Google Maps-print maps
  • Fandango- for movie show times
  • Snapfish- access and print photo albums
  • Google Calendar- view and print personal calendars
  • Coupons.com- print coupons and recipes
  • Web Sudoku- print puzzles

There are a bunch more, and you can even add your own. How cool is that? I don't know who ever thought of this, but I'm in such amazement. This is seriously one of the coolest things I have ever seen.

Some more really great features:

  • Automatically prints two-sided documents to save paper.
  • Directly print from Playstation 3 (you can capture and save screen shots for proof of game achievements.)
  • ENERGY STAR® qualified – use less energy, save money and help reduce the environmental impact of printing.
  • Print borderless 4 x 6-inch photos stored on an iPhone or iPod touch using HP iPrint Photo, the first photo printing application of its kind(3)—available for free in the Apple App Store.
  • Replace each cartridge separately when it's needed with individual inks.
  • Print, fax, copy and scan functions

Every time I use the HP Photosmart Premium with TouchSmart Web I find something new to play with. I promise that you will never want another printer again. I printed my son's birthday invitations and people keep asking me where I got them done at. It's so fun to tell them I did them myself, at home, using the HP Photosmart Premium with TouchSmart Web. I would totally add this to your Christmas wishlist!!

You can purchase the HP Photosmart Premium with TouchSmart Web for $399.99. Check stores near you.

I received product for this review. This is my opinion, and not a paid review.
