SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Socks - Review and Giveaway

When Max was a little younger, he had those yummy, chubby baby legs that you could just eat right up. The problem with those marshmallow legs, is that a lot of baby socks squeeze around the ankle, and leave those heartbreaking indentions around their soft, new skin.

I was contacted by, and introduced to SmartKnitKids Seamless socks that are completely free of seams. This is pretty genius for a couple reasons. No seams, means that the socks are more form fitting to a foot. No more pinching on the ankle. No toe seam is great for children with sensory issues (It drives ME crazy when you get that irritating bunch across your toes and then you can't think of anything else but that darn seam.) No heel seam means that quick growing feet don't outgrow the socks so quickly. And since they form so well to the foot, you don't have to worry about the socks slipping.

I received three pairs of SmartKnitKIDS ankle socks, in white. I was surprised at how soft the socks would be, and I think that the socks did everything they promised to. I felt that they were comfortable to Max (not like he could tell me) and I was pleased with the way they stayed on and fit his foot. I tried many times to get a good picture of him in his new socks, but he's a 1 1/2 year old little boy, and it just wasn't happening. My one "complaint" is that it seems like the bottoms of his socks looked dirtier than the rest of his socks and didn't come as clean, but I'm not really worried about the bottom of his socks being super white, so no big deal.

Also, how freakin' cute is that little sock-wearin' grasshopper?!

StephieMc Designs Review and Giveaway

Mommy jewelry is a hot trend right now. It's cool and fashionable to wear your heart on your sleeve, or your neck, if you will. Moms are, by nature, proud of their children, and we want everyone to know about it. So what's better than a necklace with your child's name on it?

StephieMc Designs is an Etsy shop (swoon!) that specializes in hand stamped jewelry. The best thing about hand-stamped jewelry, is that since every piece is hand made, then you are guaranteed a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry. And because it's personalized with your family name or monogram, then it's sure to become a favorite and treasured heirloom.

StephieMc Designs sent me the Annabel Necklace for review. It features a cupped sterling, silver charm stamped with the word "grandma" and holds a swarovski pearl bead, on a sterling silver chain. I designed this as a gift for my mother-in-law and gave it to her on Mother's Day. She LOVED it! It's just a beautiful necklace, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Win It:
One lucky Mommy Loves Giveaways reader will win a personalized necklace like I reviewed from StephieMc Designs!

Explaining Myself...

I read a comment somewhere, recently, (of course I can't remember where it was; I thought pregnanacy brain was supposed to end when you actually had the kid...) that said something along the lines that if your blog only had reviews and giveaways, is that really considered a blog. I take slight offense, but not really, because that's kind of my blog. I don't post as many personal blogs as I would like for two reasons, 1) I can barely find the time to post the review and giveaways that I promise businesses I will post and 2) I have another blog that I keep for personal posts. This blog is a sort of "baby book" that I print out yearly in a blog book to have, that I don't want to have to wade through reviews and giveaways when I want to take a trip down memory lane of pregnancy cravings and first milestones. You are welcome to visit my personal blog to get to know me or even check out my Project 365 blog. Yes I have three blogs. I like to keep things seperate and tidy. What can I say, I'm Type A.

I guess all I am trying to say is, yes, I am a real blogger. I think.

Any thoughts out there?

CSN Stores

I'm kind of new to the CSN Stores party. I've only recently become aware of CSN Stores, but I'm quickly becoming an addict. With over 200 stores, you are guaranteed to find something you need. I already "NEED" about 50 things. The stores are mostly named for the product they offer, like Headboards (theheadboardstore.com), Clocks (CSNclocks.com), or Wall Art (thewallartstore.com). It's super easy to navigate, and I'm actually finding tons of new items to add to my wish list. In fact, while I was writing this post, I discovered the Modern Baby Furniture store. Well, I could go on and on, but I think I better same some for my upcoming CSN Stores review! Check back!

UPrinting Wall Graphic Giveaway

I have worked with UPrinting a few times before. You've seen Rolled Canvas Prints, Stickers/Labels, and Hang Tags. Today, I get to feature Wall Graphics from UPrinting. You have complete creative freedom to design your Wall Graphic, which has an adhesive backing that is repositional and will not damage your painted wall. The fabric material is also fade resistant. This would be a neat alternative for your favorite photo, as opposed to the traditional framed print. I will be receiving a Wall Graphic, and I haven't quite decided how I will use mine, as yet. Surprise, surprise. I am a horrible decision maker. Anyway, I'm leaning towards creating an alphabet chart for Max. Or maybe numbers. Or colors. Yeah, I'm not sure...

Win It:
One lucky Mommy Loves Giveaways reader will win a Wall Graphic from UPrinting!

How to Enter:
Visit UPrinting and tell me something else you like AND how you would use the Wall Graphic. This entry is mandatory and must be completed before any other entries will be counted.

Elm Studios Review and Giveaway

Oh Etsy, you haven't let me down yet! My latest Etsy obsession is Elm Studios. Just look at these pretty pieces:

Erin from Elm Studios has some serious talent. She creates ceramic bowls, plates. and other decorative pieces to help you celebrate the special and/or just-because occasions in your life. Some of my favorites are pictured above: the Family Tree Dish, Birthday Bowl (maybe it's just the pink, but this one bowl makes me wish I had a daughter more than anything!!), Wish Bowl (Ah, the whimsy of that dandelion...), and Gift from God Wall Hanging, which would be a sweet addition to any nursery. I really wish I had one! Each piece is handmade to order and personalized to you. I love personalized, well, anything, so you know I'm in heaven.
Elm Studios created this too-cute Love Birds bowl for me, with mine and my husband's names, and our wedding date, around two kissing birdies, perched on a branch. The pictures make it hard to tell the size, but it fits neatly inside my hand. The birds are simple and sweet and perfect. I keep my bowl by the front door, and we leave our spare change, but it's also the perfect size to keep on your nightstand for your jewelery over night. You can also purchase a stand that hold and showcases your piece.

Win It:
Elm Studios has offered a personalized bowl for one Mommy Loves Giveaways reader!! ($18 or less)

It's Always Something, Isn't It?

Well, for the past several months, my computer cord has been threatening to break up with me. It would randomly say that my battery was dying, and I should plug the computer into the wall to recharge, when it was plugged in already. I was always able to sweet talk it into working again, sometimes I had to twist the cord, sometimes I had to push it in with a book behind it, sometimes I just had to hold it at a different angle (fun right?).

Well late last week, my cord broke my heart and called it quits. I went ALL WEEKEND with no computer or interent access. Talk about torture. So here I sit, waiting for my new power cord to ride in on his USPS white horse and save the day. (Meanwhile, I sneak in a couple minutes at work to check my email and whatnot.)

Just so you know that I'm not ditching you all, just mending my broken heart with trashy tv and pints of ice cream.

Baby Genius Toddler Toy Review and Giveaway

Max is by no means spoiled, because we just don't have the budget for that, but I do try to make sure his birthday and Christmas are special, and if we have some extra money, I might buy him a new toy every now and then. Our town only has a Wal-Mart, so that means that's where most of Max's toys come from, and the prices help too.

Baby Genius is a company that provides products committed to music-based learning and entertainment. They have a new line of toys, and I have actually seen many toys from the Baby Genius line at Wal-Mart We have even bought a couple of them. I've always been really happy with the Baby Genius products compared to other popular brands of toddler toys, and the prices are great. Baby Genius was kind enough to offer Max two brand new toys to review.

We picked out the Medical Kit, which comes with 5 fun tools: stethoscope, scissors, ear thermometer, syringe, and reflex tool, along with a doctor's carrying case. The recommended age for the Medical Kit is 2 years, so it's a little old for Max, which is obvious, because he really has no idea what each tool does. But I love toys like this, which really encourage pretend play and imagination. These tools seem to be made to last awhile, so that's a plus! I also think that doctor's office visits are a little less scary when kids see some familiar tools.

The second toy we picked out was the Sports Cars. Max absolutely loves these, and so do I! They feature three of the Baby Genius characters. They are the perfect size for little hands, and I was impressed how well the wheels roll, which the mother of any little boy knows is important. :o) Max likes these cars so much, that I actually bought a set for one of his friend's 1st birthday!

Win It:
Baby Genius has offered a Medical Kit and the Sports Cars for giveaway so we are going to have 2 winners!!

Joovy Caboose Ultralight Review

Max is almost a year and a half, and at this point, I can't really blame the extra weight on the "baby" any more. To be honest, I have enough stomach flab to look like I am a few months pregnant, but luckily no one has asked me when I'm due! But I have a plan! Even though I have started back to work full time, and it seems like there are never enough hours in the day to get everything done, I really want to try to get Max out for a walk at least four times a week. He loves to go outside, even if he is stuck in a stroller, so I'm excited to get some exercise and some bonding all in one shot.

I was so thrilled to have to opportunity to review the Joovy Caboose Ultralight Double Stroller. I mean, I think I screamed, and maybe peed a little. But seriously, I was excited. I chose the blueberry color, and stalked my mail every day, until one day last week, when I got home from work, there it was! I had to wait until Max went to bed, but as soon as he did I ripped into that box like I was a kid on Christmas morning. Out came the frame, and several parts and pieces. I am not that handy, but I put the stroller together all by myself in less than twenty minutes, with only one small incident. (I'm a nerd who can't tell the difference between the front and the back wheel, but whatever.) It was super easy to put together, and no tools are required! That's my kind of project.

Isn't it gorgeous?! Previously, we used the stroller from our Baby Trend travel system, which is nice for a first time parent, but it doesn't even come close to comparing to the Caboose Ultralight! First of all, you can just tell that the quality is top notch. It's sturdy and can definitely stand up to my toddler. I love the bold, bright color options. I was a little apprehensive that there wasn't an attached cupholder/tray at the handles, because I always like to put my keys and phone there, but I felt better when I found the parent organizer. It stretches over the handle and secures with velcro. There are two cup holders, as well as a long pocket on each side, and one smaller zippered compartment on the outside. There is plenty of room for all the things I want to keep handy, and even better, it's machine washable.

I love that the Caboose Ultralight, is, in fact, ultralight. Weighing in at only 21 pounds, it's very easy to manage, pulling in and out of my car trunk. Which, by the way, it folds small enough to fit inside most compact car trunks. And the only reason I haven't traded my bulky stroller for an umbrella stroller is that I just can't part with my under-stroller basket. The Caboose Ultralight has an extra-large storage basket, but what I was most impressed with was the side compartments on the storage basket. (What can I say, I'm impressed by the small things.) The standing platform (more on that later) makes it a little harder to access the basket underneath, so I like that there are easily accessibly side pockets for toys, or whatever.

The Caboose Ultralight is great for a single child family, but it's a double stroller, so it's definitely going to be useful when we get around to having baby #2. It's compatible with about 18 different infant car seats. The front seat has three reclining position, to help make sure that the ride is as comfortible as possible, although Max usually gets mad when we try to recline him, unless he is very, very sleepy. I think he thinks we are trying to trick him into falling asleep. Hmmm... BUT, I really, really, really like the rear seat. It's just a basic seat, for an older child, which rocks. Perfect for that age where they think they can walk, but inevitibly get tired and need a rest. The best part, though, is the standing platform where the child can stand and hold onto the handles. I don't know why I love it so much, but I do. It's so neat! And you know a child is going to think it's so fun.
Well I think that just about covers it. Sorry for writing the novel, but there are just so many amazing features about the Joovy Caboose Ultralight that I love. Max loves it as well (though we are still getting to know all the features, check out his poor legs all scrunched because I forgot how to lower the footrest.) This stroller is absolutely perfect for our family of three, and absolutely perfect for when we become a family of four, or five. :o)

Swiffer Sweeper Vac Review

As you know, a few weeks ago, I went from a mostly-stay-at-home mom, to a full-time working mama. It is not easy! I don't have as much time to blog (have you noticed? Sorry about that!) I don't get to spend as much time with Max as I would like, or my husband for that matter, since he works the night shift. And cleaning? Who has time for that?! And you can totally tell, by the looks of my house. *Hanging head in shame*

It's all about priorities people, and my family comes in at Number ONE. Keeping up the house is closer to the bottom, so I've found some tips to help me in between deep cleanings. One of my new tricks is using my new Swiffer Sweeper Vac. Swiffer was awesome enough to send me the Sweeper Vac Starter Kit, which includes a cordless vacuum sweeper, two dry sweeping cloths, a replaceable filter, and a recharger.

Max is your typical 1 year old. Which means, he's freakin' messy. He leaves little crumbs everywhere he goes, and don't even get me started about what I find under his high chair. This is what is awesome about the Swiffer Sweeper Vac, not only does it trap and lock fine dirt and dust like the original sweeper, but the vacuum
picks up large crumbs and hair! No need to worry about finding the broom and dust pan, and no more worrying about all those pieces that just won't sweep up, even after sweeping and turning the pan over and over again. And clean up is a breeze as well, just throw away the sweeping cloth, and dump the tray from the vacuum.

And because the Swiffer Sweeper Vac is perfect for houses with pets, Swiffer has teamed up with Cesar Millan, the "Dog Whisperer" to bring you these Top Tips for Pet-Friendly Spring Cleaning:
  • Stay calm when you are cleaning to keep dogs calm, too. If you feel yourself getting frustrated, take a step back and recharge for five minutes before starting, and reconsider your cleaning tools to make jobs easier.
  • A dog's sense of smell is its strongest scent. If your dog gets tense or upset when you clean, pay attention to the scents you are using.
  • Keep the Swiffer Sweeper Vac on hand to pick up pet hair and food while trapping crumbs, dirt, and dust better than a traditional broom and dustpan.
  • After a housebreaking accident, be sure to eliminate the mess and the smell to avoid repeat accidents.
  • The whole family can help care for a new puppy. Young kids can refill the water bowl or accompany you on a walk.

Visit Swiffer.com or become a Facebook fan to learn more!
