Country Time Lemonade Review and Giveaway

You know what's great about the summer? BBQ's, Picnics, and family get-togethers. I love when all of my favorite people can get together and eat, play, and visit for hours. Unfortunately, with mine and my husband's wacky schedules, we don't get to go to them as often as we would like to, but we make it work when we can. I'm not usually a fan of the hot, humid weather we have here in Kansas during the summers, but I love to sit out in my lawn chair with an ice cold glass of lemonade. Country Time Lemonade sent me a canister of lemonade powder mix, and a cool Country Time pitcher. I'm no stranger to Country Time, and it's actually my favorite brand. It's super easy to make, just measure and mix with water. No need to add sugar! We have used over half of the mix already, in less than a week! Also, can I just say that it was my husband who did the hack job on the lemonade wrapper? Men!

I have the perfect giveaway just in time for Independence Day!!

Win It:
One lucky Mommy Loves Giveaways reader will win some lemonade mix and a pitcher from Country Time too!

CSN Stores Review

I told you guys I had the amazing privilege to work with CSN Stores on a review. It was so incredibly difficult to choose from CSN Stores' over 200 stores. It literally took me DAYS to decide. In the end, because I had been wanting to get Max a child table and chairs for months, so I decided that was the best choice for me.

Originally, I wanted to get a wooden table and chair set, but it they were all out of my price range. Even with the credit from CSN Stores, it was still a little more than I wanted to spend at the time, so I "settled" for the Little Tikes Primary Colors Kids' Table and Chairs Activity Set. I use quotation marks, because I LOVE Little Tikes, and pretty much everything they make. I knew the quality was going to be great. The picture shows a blue table with red chairs, but we somehow ended up with a red table and blue chairs. I am actually really happy that I went with plastic instead of wood because it is SO easy to clean. Max eats almost all of his meals at his table now, instead of his high chair (sniff, sniff... my baby gets bigger every day). He also loves to color and read and play at the table. He's a rough and tumble boy, so I know the table is going to stand up to his ways. I think he likes it, what do you think?

Eden Fantasys Review and Giveaway

***18+ ONLY***
You all know I am sponsored by Eden Fantasys (check out the button to the right) and have done several product reviews over the last year. I realize that some people may think that this affiliation is shameful or dirty and to those people I will say, "loosen up!" You can find all kinds of items that range from tame to mild to a little to scary for me. They have romantic items like candles, rose petals, and music and fun items for bachelor/bachelorette parties. They also carry lingerie and toys. Personally, I think sometimes it's fun to add a little spice to your romantic relationship. That doesn't mean I am telling you to buy a motorized toy (gasp!) but it can be as simple as massage lotion or romance coupons. Either way, I absolutely do not see the harm in a little spice. As long as you and your partner are open and comfortable, then it's really nobody else's business, and to be honest, I've seen relationships end in divorce because one part of the couple was no longer interested in the relationship.

This time, I received the Dirty Cop Sexy Costume to review. I chose this to prove a point. I have never had any costumes, and I wanted to practice what I preached about having an open mind. I have to say that I am impressed with the quality of the actual costume, considering the price. I expected some cheap material, but it's actually really nice. The accessories, on the other hand, are a little cheap, not to mention cheesy, but they are fun too. All in all, I felt a little silly dressed up as a "sexy cop" but the hubby was happy for the change-up, regardless.

Win It:
One lucky Mommy Loves Giveaways reader will win a $25 gift certificate to Eden Fantasys!

"Be Thrifty" Book Review

My family isn't rich. Far from it! We live paycheck-to-paycheck and sometimes we struggle to make ends meet. I know it won't always be this way for us, but for now, that's the way our life is, and we do what we can to get by. I'm always looking for a way to help stretch our dollar a little bit, so when I was offered the chance to do a book review on "be thrifty - How to Live Better with Less," I jumped at the opportunity.

The back of the book says this, "Thrift is not simply about saving money. Thrift is practical, and thrift is smart." I like that. We are not being cheap (well I'm not, my husband kind of is) but we are spending our money more wisely.

There are seven chapters that cover your home, gardening, pets, cooking, entertainment, health, leisure, etc. You can find everything from instructions to fixing your own plumbing to thrifty recipes to savings plans. My husband has actually been really interested in this book, and we've both learned a lot! This book would be a really great gift for a recent graduate! Every time I pick up the book, I learn something new.

Cheeky Umbrella Review and Giveaway

My favorite kind of day is a dark, windy, stormy day. Yes, I agree that sounds strange, but I just love it! I love to be inside and look out to a dark and cloudy day. It's the best when it hasn't rained yet, but usually, the rain comes along. It's the perfect day to sleep in, and I even love it when I'm at work. What I don't love is the trip from the house to the car to wherever I'm going. As much as I love a stormy day, I don't love getting wet. So you can bet I have tons of umbrellas stashed everywhere I might need one.

I was recently introduced to Cheeky Umbrella and I fell in love immediately. These umbrellas feature the cutest, modern designs I've seen. They are like something you might see in a movie. So fashionable and fun. They carry long and compact umbrellas, and umbrellas for children, golfers, and even brides.

I was fortunatle enough to receive the Cocktails Long Umbrella from Cheeky Umbrella to review. I love how big the long umbrellas are. The area underneath is wide enough for two people to stay dry, and it's especially helpful when I'm carrying Max to the car. I love, love, love the fun print, and it has "I prefer umbrellas in my cocktails" printed on the underneath side. It's so fun and sassy. I just LOVE it. And since I have received it, I have already used it more times than I can count! I do have one issue with it, and that is that it's so long, when I'm in my car, I have to struggle a little to pull it inside, across my body, and into the floorboard of the passenger seat, so I inevitably get a little water on me anyways. Oh well.

Win It:
One lucky Mommy Loves Giveaways reader will win your choice of Cheeky Umbrella!

How to Enter:
Visit Cheeky Umbrella and let me know which one is your favorite. This entry is mandatory and must be completed before any other entries will be counted.

Elizabeth Arden's Licensed Fragrences Review

I really don't wear a lot of perfumes, and when I do, it's usually in the form of some type of body spray that isn't strong smelling. So when I was asked to review some of Elizabeth Arden's licensed fragrences, I was intrigued. This was going to be a real test, and I was anxious to see how it was going to go. Who knows, maybe I would end up with a new signature scent.

With Love... by Hilary Duff - I'm not sure why, but perfume boxes are always a puzzle to open and to close. But I guess part of the fun is the presentation. The bottle was pretty fancy, and as far as the scent, With Love... was my favorite. The scent wasn't too sweet or overwhelming. It was more musky and exotic, but not in that old lady way. :o) I can picture myself wearing it every day too.

Circus by Britney Spears - I was most excited to try Circus, because Britney Spears had one other fragrence that I really liked (I can't remember which one.) I'm not crazy about the bottle. I like rhinestones as much as the next girl, but they seem to make the bottle look cheesy, not fancy. But then again, it's called Circus, so that's probably the point. The scent is a little sweeter than the others, and it's nice, but not my favorite

Forever by Mariah Carey - This bottle was intense! The lid is so tall, but it definitely makes a statement! The scent is a little more floral, and seems to be a little bit "older" than what I might be drawn to. It smells okay, but not something I would choose on my own.Maybe it will be more my style in a couple years.

Badgley Mischka Couture - This bottle is gold, and to be honest, I thought the gold
made it look a little cheap, which was the opposite statementI think it was supposed to make. The gold paint was chipped on the sides, and it just cheapened the whole appearance. But don't judge a book by it's cover, because I actually really like the scent. It's got a nice mix of musk and floral, and a hint of fruit. I will definitely wear this one.

X Rocawear - This was the one cologne I got to try out. Obviously I won't
be wearing this one around, but I can still have an opinion. The bottle is really cool, and definitely masculine. I actually really like the scent. It's refreshing and not overpowering, like some cologne can be. I'm really trying to get the hubs to get into this one.

Well, it was really fun to try out some new scents, and I have found some keepers and some to pass along to friends. But to be completely honest, I can't really see myself (or my husband being okay with) spending over $35 on perfume. At least not now, while we are on a tight budget.

What's your favorite perfume or cologne?

Father's Day Gift Guide and Dockers Giveaway

I have been racking my brain for weeks trying to come up with the perfect gift for my husband for Father's Day. I have scoured tons of websites, lists, and Etsy shops and I think I finally figured out what I am going to give. Sorry, I can't tell you yet because the hubs may read this and ruin the suprise. So how about settling for some runner ups:

1. Handmade Beer Soap - I found these on Etsy by Beautiful Soaps. I think they are cool, unique and the perfect gift for the beer-lover in your family. Not only do they smell like your man's favorite beer, but they are made with essentail oils to help keep his skin smooth.

2. Daddy's Tie - Yes, ties for Father's Day are a little cliche, but I think that's why I love this idea for a first-time Dad. How absolutely precious are these ties that you can ink with your new baby's hand or foot prints? And what a sweet little memento for your husband's very first Father's Day.

3. Duct Tape Wallet - Here is an inexpensive, clever gift that's fun and useful! You know, duct tape has a hundred uses! If your husband is a handy-man, this this will be perfect. Better yet, I bet you can find a tutorial online and make one of these yourself!

4. Neck-Tie Sugar Cookies - You know the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, right? You can buy or make your dude's favorite dish, snack, or dessert and show him how much he means to you.

5. Dockers pants - We all want our men to look their best, and what better time than Father's Day to give your husband a nice addition to their wardrobe? Dockers make pants that are not only stylish, but comfy as well. You can't beat them. And have I got a suprise for you?! Dockers is celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Father's Day by offering FIVE readers a pair of Dockers pants!!

Win it!!
We're doing it a little differently today. To be entered, just leave a comment here, telling me the best gift you ever gave for Father's Day (or the best gift you received).
Giveaway ends June 24, 2010 at midnight. 18 and older, US residents only. I did not receive anything for writing this post. This is purely my opinion.

Pear Tree and Discount

Pear Tree Pearista

So I know you all saw the super awesome Pear Tree giveaway, where FIVE of you lucky readers are going to win super-cute custom address labels, right? Well, it ends tonight, so get your entires in before midnight!

I am a pearista (doesn't that just sounds fancy?) which means that every month I get to offer you guys sweet giveaways. But that's not all, if you don't win a set of address labels tonight, don't cry! Pear Tree is giving you a sweet coupon for 10% off all orders over $19, with the code:
PEARJUN10.

I also want to give a big shout out to Pear Tree for sending me a set of FREAKIN' ADORABLE personalized note cards. I tried to scan my cards so you could see how cute they are, but it didn't come out very good. Sorry. But take my word for it. I was suprised and amazed by the thoughtfulness when I opened my suprise package. Christy at Pear Tree created the set using the colors from Mommy Loves Giveaways, and you all know I'm a sucker for anything with my name on it. (Is that vain?) On top of that, I'm a major office supply/stationary geek. So I am totally happy with my note cards. The quality is equal-to-if-not-better-than, and the prices are way better than, those other stationary websites. Thanks Pear Tree! You know I'll be back, if-and-when I need to replenish my notecards. (I almost think they are too pretty to write on!)

Popcorn, Indiana Review and Giveaway

We are huge snackers in my house. It's the reason I still haven't lost the baby weight after 18 months. (Can you still blame it on the baby if your kid isn't a baby anymore?) Anyway, like I said, we like the snack foods. I pretty much consider myself an expert. One of our favorite family snacks is popcorn, and we usually have the microwave kind, but my absolute favorite is the already popped popcorn, like the kind you get in those big Christmas tins. (Which, by the way, can I please have a tin with only cheese and butter? I'm not a fan of the caramal, and it takes up 1/3 of the can.) Again, anyways... When Popcorn, Indiana offered to send me some samples, I jumped at the chance for free food.

Popcorn, Indiana sent me several bags in various sizes of their Gourmet Kettle Corn, Aged White Cheddar, and Movie Theatre Popcorn. (I thought we had a Cinnamon flavored, but I can't find the link on their website... maybe I'm losing it. Ha!) I loved the Kettle Corn! It was the first one we opened. There is nothing like that perfect combination of salty and sweet. NOTHING! The perfect pairing of tastes. The Movie Theatre popcorn was yummy too, but my absolute favorite was the Aged White Cheddar. SOOO good. The popcorn in all the flavors is popped to perfection. Pre-popped popcorn is completely different than what you can make at home. The kernals are full and fluffy. I'm getting myself all worked up, so now I have to go buy some more. Mmmm...

Win It:
One lucky Mommy Loves Giveaways reader will each win some Popcorn, Indiana popcorn too!

Ramy Juicy Cheeks Review and Giveaway

I didn't wear a lot of makeup until I got to late high-school, early college. Now, I have to "put on my face" every day to feel presentable. I love buying new products, and experimenting with new colors and trends. But I'm not expert. I have several products, but my day-to-day makeup is pretty much the same, because it's what I know, and what I'm comfortable with.
I was asked if I wanted to do a review and giveaway with Ramy, and I was excited to try something new. I rarely am able to buy professional style makeup, so I was pretty happy for the opportunity. I received a Juicy Cheeks compact, in the color Papa Don't Peach - it's the second one in the row - (you can also get Maya Papaya, Melon Rouge, and Pure Juice, Pearl Gloss Highlighter). Don't you love the names?
To be very honest, I wasn't excited at first glance. First of all, I love pink, it's my favorite color, but it just doesn't look good on my face, as blush, eye color, or lip color. So the intense pinky peach intimidated me. I've also never used a liquid/cream/gel blush. I wasn't, and still am not sure exactly how to apply it correctly. When I put it on, the color wasn't as bright as it appears, and you can rub it in as light as you wish, so that eased some of my fears. I still don't think pink is my color. But, the nice thing is Juicy Cheeks can be worn on the eyes and lips, so if I can't get it right on my cheeks, I can always add it to my lip gloss collection.

Win It:
One lucky Mommy Loves Giveaways reader will each win a Ramy Juicy Cheeks compact too!

How to Enter:
Visit Ramy and let me know something else that you would like to try. This entry is mandatory and must be completed before any other entries will be counted.

Pear Tree Address Label Giveaway

I am excited to announce that I am now a "Pearista" meaning I have partnered with Pear Tree Greetings, a super cute stationary store that is also affordable. I don't know about you, but I have a lobster taste, on a fish stick budget. Most stationary sites have absolutely adorable and modern designs, but way out of my price range. It's nice to find the amazing quality of products, for a fraction of the cost. And you, my readers, are lucky too, because each month, I get to offer a new product to giveaway.

June's featured product is address labels. For every giveaway, I pretty much look through every single product a company has to offer, so I can feature my favorites in my post. It was incredibly difficult to narrow my favorites down to just five. They are so pretty and unique. For each one, I pictured our family initial or name or even picture, and swooon. I want a set of each! I really love the bold colors and the modern prints. You can definitely find a label that represents you and your family's personalities.

Win It:
FIVE lucky Mommy Loves Giveaways readers will each win a set of address labels from Pear Tree!

How to Enter:
Visit Pear Tree and let me know what you favorite address label is. Also, let me know what you plan to use these for. Be creative! Will you customize them for your little one's birthday? How about making fun stickers for their books? This entry is mandatory and must be completed before any other entries will be counted.
