Unique Feng Shui Shop Review

"Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese art of placement. The Chinese believe that by placing things to encourage the beneficial flow of Chi (Energy Force) you can create harmonious change which affects your health, wealth and relationships."

I recently had the opportunity to work with Unique Feng Shui Shop on a review. Unique Feng Shui Shop makes it easy for you to find what you are looking for. You can shop by place including Kids, Garden & Patio, Office or Home; or you can shop by what you need including Health, Wealth and Love. There are tons of options to help you find what you need, and each item tells you what it does and how to use it.

Unique Feng Shui Shop sent me the Money Buddhas. Of course I chose something from the Wealth catalogue, because it can't hurt! The three buddhas I received are not the same ones that the picture shows, and their mouths are painted red which is a little scary. I don't know how much stock I put in Feng Shui, but I do have to say, the same week that I received the buddhas, I got a raise at work, so who knows. All I know is that I won't be packing them up just yet!

Pop Weaver Review

I am a snacker. It's one of the main reason I have issues with my weight - I eat out of boredom, habit, or just because. Whether it's cookies, chips, or candy, I always feel guilty afterwards, and I try to just not even have the stuff in the house.

Luckily for me, not all snacks are bad, and Pop Weaver has just added one more to the list. They have recently introduced the "first ever microwave popcorn made with canola oil" instead of Palm Oil, so it has less fat, and also helps lower cholesterol and protects against coronary heart diseast, heart attacks and strokes!

I LOVE popcorn, so it's really nice to have my snack without the side of guilt. Pop Weaver sent me a box of the Light Butter microwave popcorn. My whole family loves it. Even though it's better for you, you don't sacrifice the yummy taste! Yay!! Next time, though, I'm going for the Extra Butter. :)

LovliDay Review and Giveaway

When I got married, I was shocked to discover how much it was going to cost. Between food, flowers, music, the dress, and everything else, it's easy to see how things can get out of control quickly. I also learned how to save money by doing things myself, or finding a cheaper alternative. One example, instead of buying your invitations, find someone online to design them for a fraction of the cost, and print them yourself, or using an online printer like Wal-Mart, etc. Just look at this modern and fun invitation by Etsy shop, Lovli Day:

I love the lines and the symmetry, and LOVE the pink!

And look at this one with the simple dandelions!! **swoon** I love the simple, yet elegant designs. The color is so bright and fun, and the flowers give it that extra touch of whimsy.

Lovli Day also specializes in these really cool guest-book alternatives - the Fingerprint Tree. How gorgeous is this Fall fingerprint tree? And they have a GORGEOUS winter one that I wish I had at my February wedding!

Lovli Day sent me a blank baby shower fingerprint tree. It's completely customizable, so you can pretty much put whatever you want. If you know the sex of the baby, you can get the "stork bag" in pink or blue. I went with green. You can buy the kit, which includes the ink, in light green and dark green which gives some depth to the print (I learned this about this from my photographer, who gave us a matte for guests to sign at our reception. She suggested we get 2-3 different thicknesses of markers to create texture and depth and she was right. It looks amazing! End Tangent!) I actually haven't had the chance to use it yet, as I plan to use it as my sister's upcoming baby shower. I know she'll love it, and it's going to become something she'll treasure forever. What a GREAT alternative to a guestbook for any event. You can even buy the PDF and print it yourself. I cannot wait to present this to my sister. It's so unique!

Win it!!

Brugo Mug Review and Giveaway

I am a coffee drinker. I worked in a book store with a cafe, and although I enjoyed the specialty coffees every now and then before that, the cafe gave employees free coffee, and I got hooked. I eventually bought a coffee pot for my own kitchen, and now I drink coffee throughout the week. I love it! I don't love my current travel mug, though. I have one of those porcelin mugs with a silicone sleeve that looks like a paper cup, but is actually not. It's cute, but even with the sleeve, it gets SO HOT.

I recently had the opportunity to try one of Brugo's famous travel mugs. They have a patented lid that allows you to "tip" and "sip" where you tip the cup to fill the chamber with one ounce of liquid that quickly cools each individual drink. This is supposed to help keep the rest of your coffee hot, without scalding your mouth.

I received the Seaglass from the Executive collection mug. (Although, I'm totally dying for the Flamingo one! Note to self: add to Christmas wish list...) It actually took me a few minutes to even figure out how to work the lid. I'm not sure I'm crazy about a coffee mug that required directions! LOL But I got it on and figured out. It took me a few tries to get the hang of the "tip" part, and to be honest, it seemed like more of a pain than it was worth, but that could be user error. The really great thing is the Brugo mug has the option to keep the cooling chamber open, so you can sip like a regular mug. Everybody wins! It's totally growing on me, and I may change my mind about the "tip and sip" method after some more practice. And, I do have to say, I love that I don't have to wait to start drinking my fresh cup of coffee until it cools down.

Win it!!
One lucky Mommy Loves Giveaways readers will win Brugo Mug!

Pear Tree Stationary Giveaway and Discount

I can't think of anything that I like more than receiving a handwritten note or letter in the mail. Just knowing that someone took the time to sit down and think of me instantly brightens my day. I'm also a firm believer in sending Thank You cards in the mail with a handwritten message. Getting married and having a baby in the same year nearly made my hand fall off, but I made it through. :) I also tell my husband that I don't care about gifts, but finding a little note in my car or purse is something that would melt my heart and I would treasure forever. Call me old fashioned, I guess...

It's a new month, so that means I get to bring you another Pear Tree giveaway. Are you pumped? I am! This month, one lucky reader will win a set of personalized stationary. WeeRide Kangaroo Review and Giveaway

Max is such an outdoor boy. He loves being outside, and often tries to sneak out, if one of us is leaving. It has been so hot lately, and he doesn't care, he will walk so slow to and from the car, just so he can stay our longer. I'm not much of an outdoor girl, so Daddy is the one who usually goes out to play, and I love that my boys have their bonding time.

I was offered an opportunity to review the WeeRide Kangaroo bicycle seat, and I jumped at the chance. I knew Max would absolutely love bike riding, and I thought it would be fun for all of us to ride together. I don't have a bike yet, so Daddy has been the tester. They usually ride every day he has off, and one night as I was getting home, the boys were coming back from their ride. I have never seen anything cuter in my life, than Max sitting in that little seat, holding onto his helmet. Just like I thought, Max LOVED the ride, he gets to see everything that is going on.

I remember when I was a kid, my family used to go on bike rides, and my brother would sit in a seat behind my mom. I, personally, would not feel comfortable with having Max behind me on a bike, probably because I am kind of a control freak, and I wouldn't be able to see him. Not to mention the fact that all he would be able to see is my back. I feel much better that he would be in front of me, and I know it's more enjoyable. My husband says it's not much harder to ride with Max on the bike, and in fact the website says that the child's weight in front actually enhances the stability instead of impairing it, if he were on the back. I know that Max is safer because he is between my husbands arms and legs. The seat is mounted on a bar that you hook onto the bike, so we can take off the seat to keep it inside. I also found out that we can buy an extra bar for my bike, so Max will be able to ride with either one of us. I'm so so happy with the WeeRide Kangaroo seat, and I'm excited to finally get my bike back so we can ride as a family.

Win it!!

Blog2Print - Print your blog into a book

I have been blogging in one type of blog or another for many years. When I got pregnant, shortly after getting married, I knew that I needed a new blog to keep track of my new life. My husband's family lives over two hours away from us, and eventually we want to move to where they live, so at that point, MY family would be over two hours away. I wanted a place to share details and pictures of my pregnancy, and ultimately the baby to share with family that we didn't see very often. I updated weekly with woes of morning sickness, doctor's appointments, and excitement of feeling kicks. After Max was born, it became a place to record milestones and growth charts, funny stories, and lots of pictures. It became an extension of his baby book, and I'm so happy to have kept it up, because my memory is terrible, and I know that Max (and whatever kids come along) will be thrilled to read about the time in our life when they were babies. I began thinking about having some kind of hard copy of my blog to keep with the baby book, and after much research, I decided to try Blog2Print.com.

It was the easiest program I have found; you just enter your URL and it automatically downloads all the posts. Then you can add or delete posts or pictures, and there are tons of cover styles to choose from. I have printed two books, one for 2008 and one for 2009, and will continue to print out my blog each year for as long as I blog. I'm thrilled to have a paper copy of my blog and I do actually go back and read through my first posts already.

If you want to create your own blog book, click here to get started. You won't regret it, and it will likely become something you and your family cherish for a long time.
**I was not compensated in any way for this post. It is my own thoughts and opinions based on a product I paid for myself.**

Radius Totz Toothbrush Review and Giveaway

Promoting healthy teeth is important for me, with my kids. I've always had pretty good teeth, very few cavities, no braces or retainers, etc. When I was pregnant, I was so sick (morning sickness for SEVEN MONTHS) that I couldn't stomach to brush every day, and got a nasty cavity. It went downhill fast, and a year later I had to have a root canal. (I had heard pregnancy wrecks havoc on your teeth, but I had no idea!) Ever since, I've been anal about brushing and flossing every day, and even more obsessive about Max's teeth.

Max received the Silver Totz toothbrush from Radius. I would normally have a super cute picture of Max brushing his pearly white baby teeth but my camera is broke, and I haven't gotten a replacement yet. (And hey, we all know Max would never have cooperated anyway.) We have been using the Totz toothbrush for a few weeks now, and I feel like it works pretty good. It's got the smaller head, that fits into a child's mouth. I think it's actually a little bigger than other children's toothbrushes we have used, but it gets the job done. And apparently they do that on purpose to spread out the pressure, so it's gentler on the little one's sensitive gums. The handle is wide and flat, so very easy to hold for mommy or Max. I still brush Max's teeth, but I'm sure this would be a very good brush for Max when he starts doing it himself.

Win it!!
One lucky Mommy Loves Giveaways readers will win a Totz toothbrush from Radius too!

Mandatory: To be entered, visit the Radius and tell me something else you would like.

Expo Dry Erase Board and Markers Review

I received the Expo Double Sided Learning Board to review. It has one blank side to allow free drawing and creativity, and the other side is lined to practice writing letters and numbers. I remember when I was in elementary school, we had the lined chalkboards, and it was always so fun when we got to use them for practice. And a couple times we even got to take them home! (Sounds so nerdy now...) But this is definitely a must have if you have a young child learning letters. Little kids love to draw and erase on a dry erase board. I also received an extra package of the new Expo Washable Markers, that come in several bright, fun colors. Max is having so much fun scribbling and erasing. I don't even have to worry about him missing the board, because the washable markers come out of clothes and carpet! That makes this mommy very happy! (Sorry for the bad pictures, but my camera is broke and I had to use my phone camera!!) I'm excited for the time when Max gets to practice writing his ABC's! :o)

Check out more Expo products here.

Terro Fruit Fly Traps Review

Okay, I can admit that I am an indoor girl. I have no interest in getting dirty, and certainly no interest in bugs. I'm terrified of spiders, and grossed out by just about anything with tiny legs or wings. It's even worse when they are inside, because I can't get away. One bug that doesn't really scare me, but annoys the crap out of me is fruit flys. They fly around your food and face and generally are a pain in the butt. So when I was asked if I wanted to review the Terro Fruit Fly Traps, I was totally up for it.

I get several review or giveaway items a week, and sometimes the package will sit for a few days until I can find the time to get into it, but I opened the Terro Fruit Fly Traps right away, because I NEEDED them. The trap is shaped like a little apple (which is perfect for my kitchen because we decorate in apples) so you don't have to worry about the trap being a sore spot in your kitchen. It's really simple to activate: just pull back the top, squeeze the liquid from the bottle into the apple, and place where you have the most flies, like near a trash can or under your sink. After just a couple days, I did actually notice less of the fruit flys in our tiny kitchen. I just looked, and there are several of the little guys floating. I love when something actually works like it says it will!! :)
You can find out more from the Terro blog, Twitter, or Facebook pages!

My Baby Clothes - Red, White, and Blue Granola Bars

***Submitted by My Baby Clothes Boutique. I totally dropped the ball on this one! I should have posted it last week, but it's okay. It will taste good whenever you make it. :) I can't wait to try this out!!***

Red, White, and Blue Granola Bars

I love the fourth of July. A time to celebrate the birth of our country, fireworks, and backyard BBQ's. Greasy hamburgers, mayonnaise based salads and heavy cakes and ice cream. Have you ever wished you could serve a fun and delicious dessert while still staying health conscience? This is the recipe for you!

It's a gooey chewy granola bar that is decadent but still packed with soluble fiber, Omega 3 and
antioxidants. With the help of a star shaped cookie cutter you have a very festive treat.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup butter, softened
1 egg
3Tbsp ground flax seed
2 Tbsp Honey 2 cups olds fashioned oats
1 cup whole wheat all purpose flour
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup dried blueberries, cherries, and cranberries mixed
1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Preparation:

In a large bowl beat butter and brown sugar together till it crumbles.
Add egg, flax seed, and honey - mix till creamy.
In a small bowl mix oats, flour, cinnamon and baking soda together.
Mix dry ingredient with the wet mixture until it is just combined.
Fold in dried fruit and white chocolate chips.
Press mixture into a 11" x 7" pan and bake for 15 to 18 minutes, till set
and edges are just starting to brown.

When granola cools use a large star shaped cookie cutter and cut into shapes.
Break left over bits up and place into snack size bags for quick energy packs to go.

Rock Star Baby Clothes by My Baby Clothes Boutique

***Submitted by My Baby Clothes Boutique, my newest sponsor/partner who will be sharing fun posts on Mommy Loves Giveaways! I know you'll love it.***

Rock Star Baby Clothes

Remember when baby clothes were simple and sweet? Well those days are long over! Today's modern baby is more likely to be sporting a skull and cross bones than a simple lace ruffle. And many parents would not have it any other way.

Many modern parents are not interested in giving up their wild sides when they have kids. For many, letting out their inner rock stars only get better when there are little rock stars to join in. Cue the trend of the rock star baby.

Zebra and leopard print, guitars and stars, and skulls with cross bones are found more and more frequently on baby and toddler clothing. Girls and boys are both getting in on the action, with wild clothing designed for anyone that dares to wear it. So long smiling puppy dogs, hello electric guitar strumming cats.

This new trend of rocking out has managed to make it way into nearly every clothing aspect. Shoes, hair bows, baby hats, and even baby blankets can now be found decked out with rock and roll designs. For the truly outrageous parents, entire crib sets can even be bought featuring wild themes and prints. Who wants a pastel crib when it could be animal print instead?

The rock star baby clothes trend is even causing changes in once ordinary and simple designs. Now you can buy your little boy a baby onesie featuring a leopard print tie on the front, or buy your daughter a tutu skirt in hot pink and black. Clothing staples that seemed timeless are getting a fresh new look, straight from the back stage.

Rock and roll has been around for more than 50 years, and now it is making it's way down to the toddler set. Whether that is a good thing or not is up to personal taste. I have a feeling though, that if it were up to toddlers this trend may stick around for a long time.

“I want women to feel empowered and beautiful when they wear my jewelry. I hope that every woman will enjoy wearing my jewelry as much as I enjoy creating each piece. Every woman deserves beauty and luxury in their life without the high price tag which is the reason I strive to keep the prices as low as possible without sacrificing quality.”

Reija Eden Jewelry has some of the prettiest handmade (!) jewelry inspired by and made with the most beautiful gemstones and precious metals. Cherry Creek Designs Review and Giveaway

Lately, I have become obsessed with rings, and more specifically, I have become obsessed with finding a skinny ring. I searched countless websites, but I wasn't willing to spend a hundred dollars or more. That is just ridiculous. And imagine my delight when I was browsing Etsy one day and discovered this gorgeous little thing:

I found this Tiny Heart Ring at Cherry Creek Designs, and instantly fell in love. And even better, Heather agreed to let me review it! Unfortunately, my camera is being a jerk and not working (I may have dropped it) but it looks just like this one in the picture. It's so perfectly dainty, simple, and elegant. I LOVE it and wear it at least three or four times a day. It's the perfect little reminder during my days at work of Max. You can even stack it with other skinny rings from Cherry Creek Designs. And even better, it's totally affordable!! That's my kind of shopping.

I was delightfully suprised to open my ring box and find the matching Tiny Hearts Earrings! They match perfectly, and have that simple, understated, but so sweet look like the ring. Love it! Cherry Creek Designs also has the cutest square rings, necklaces, and wedding bouquet charms.
