Eucerin Review

I hate, hate, hate dry skin. I hate the dry, scaley feeling, and the rough dry, dusty feeling when your hands just are begging for moisture. I have a stash of lotion everywhere I can think of including my nightstand, bathroom, purse, work desk, and living room. My problem areas are my elbows and my feet, so I am constantly lathering up to get that silky, smooth feeling back.

One brand on lotion that is familiar to me and my family is Eucerin. One of the first products I was introduced to was Aquaphor from Eucerin. It was the only thing that worked for my son's cradle cap, and I still use it as a diaper rash cream, when we need it. It seems to be the cure all for skin issues. Our pediatrician also recommended Eucerin last winter when my son started getting dry skin from the cold weather.

Eucerin contacted me about doing a review for their Daily Skin Balance lotion. I agreed, because I'm a lotion junkie. I really liked this lotion, because it went on really thick. I hate when lotion feels so thin that you know it's not really doing much. And it doesn't leave an oily, gross feeling like some lotions. My husband likes it because it's not girly smelling. My skin feels great for hours too, not just immediately after I put it on. I think we have found a real winner!

Eucerine is asking women to take the Skin FIRST Pledge, meaning you pledge to take care of your skin, because it's your first line of defense, and often its one of the things buys moms forget to do. For every pledge Eucerine will make a donation to Healthy Women, the nation’s leading independent health information source for women.

Make the pledge today!! It's so easy to do. And check out the Eucerine Facebook and Twitter pages.

1-800-Flowers Review and Giveaway

Because my computer has been messed up, I missed National Smile Week (8/8 - 8/14). It's a fact that smiling (and happiness in general) makes you a healthier person. I know from experience, that even if you don't feel like it, if you smile long enough that you will actually start to feel happier. The old "fake it till you make it" experience. And let's face it, people want to be around other people that make them feel good, and a smile definitely makes you feel good.

1-800-Flowers hooked me up with lots of smile-inducing items. There is nothing that makes me happier than getting something fun in the mail! I received the Happy Day Bouquet from 1-800-Flowers.com, the Happy Face Cookie Gift Box from Cheryls, and the Survival Kit from The Porpcorn Factory. I was supposed to get the Smiley Face Sampler Box to complete the smiley set, but they must have been out. The Happy Day Bouquet lasted for weeks and I loved, loved, loved having fresh flowers, and bright, fun ones at that! The cookies were delicious, but there were so many, that I took them to work to share the happiness. :D And the survival kit had lots of sweet treats that we all enjoyed snacking on.

One lucky Mommy Loves Giveaways readers will win a Happy Day Bouquet to make you smile!

Naturals by Safety First Review and Giveaway

Safety First is a very familiar name to me, as the mother of a toddler. Almost all of their products are products to help keep your baby/toddler safe, and I have purchased many, many items, especially while baby-proofing our house when Max was learning to move.

I received a set of Naturals by Baby First, a line of skin care products that are made without chemicals and safe for your little one's skin. I received the Daily Moisture Lotion, Intensive Moisture Cream for Dry Skin, Bubble Bath, Shampoo & Body Wash, and the Diaper Rash Cream. So far, I've been really happy with the results of all the products, and I really love knowing that the products I use on Max's still-new skin is safe. Max's favorite has been the bubble bath by FAR. It was his first experience with bubbles, and as soon as he knows he is getting a bath, he runs and asks for the "bubbas!!" We've been through the entire bottle in about a month. Time for a new bottle!

One lucky Mommy Loves Giveaways readers will win collection of Naturals by Safety First too!

Mandatory: To be entered, visit Safety First and tell me something you would like to try.

Pear Tree Greetings: Pen to Paper Challenge.

As you know, I am one of many Pearistas, meaning I am sponsored by Pear Tree Greetings, and I get to bring you monthly discounts and giveaways featuring Pear Tree's many amazing stationary products. This month, Pear Tree is doing things a little differently.

They have offered a challenge, the Pen to Paper Challenge, and I have accepted. Basically, we will be writing and sending handwritten cards for four weeks, and sending blank cards for our recipients to send their own handwritten cards.

Last week was the first week, (and of course I missed it, thank you mr. computer) and I sent my card to a friend I haven't spoken to in months. I don't know if she has received it or not, but that's not really the point. The great thing about handwritten cards, letters, or notes are that they are personal and thoughtful. It takes a little more effort to pick a card, sit down, think about the person, and write your feelings, then you have to find a stamp and a post office. It's a little extra effort than hitting the send button, but it let's the person know that you are willing to go that little extra mile, because they are that important to you.

And who doesn't love getting a handwritten letter in the mail? I know I would welcome something besides bills! Why don't you send a handwritten note or letter to someone you haven't heard from in awhile?!

How about a discount code?

Throughout the month of August, enjoy 15% off anything and everything BABY! Birth Announcements, Baby Shower Invitations, Baptism Invitations and more!

Oh Crap - This is Not Good.

Well, I think my laptop is dead, or at the very least, dying a slow, painful (for me) death. Currently, the screen is not working. I have managed by luck to get it on right before bed a couple nights, for long enough to check my emails, but I'm thinking the next step is to buy a new monitor to hook up, because I *think* the actual computer part is still good, for now.

So I have to pause reviews and giveaways for a few days (hopefully that's all it takes!) until I can figure something out.

Oh, and if you want to donate to a MLG new computer fund, let me know! :P

Studio C by Carolina Pad Review and Giveaway

School is getting ready to start, and while I graduated in 2007, I live across the street from the college, so it's kind of hard to miss all the recent activity. One of my favorite things about school starting, is buying school supplies. I am a total sucker (nerd?) for all things school or office supplies. Seriously, to this day I am so happy to walk through office depot, and opening a brand new notebook gives me chills thinking about the endless possiblities. I have worked with Carolina Pad on a giveaway several months ago, and I am lucky enough to do so again.

Carolina Pad sent me this awesome collection of products from their Studio C line in a Back-to-
School promotion! I received a 1" 3-ring binder, 2 pocket folder, 1 subject notebook, composition book, ideal book, and journal. I'm crazy-excited about the fun patterns and colors, that make me excited about writing and express my personality way more than the plain-jane products you find at the store. As a student, I honestly think it's the little things like this that make you want to learn and study. My new Carolina Pad products almost make me wish I was getting ready to start classes again.

One lucky Mommy Loves Giveaways readers will win collection of products from the Carolina Pad Studio C line too!

Mandatory: To be entered, visit Carolina Pad and tell me something you would like.

Bendaroos Review and Giveaway

I have seen Bendaroos on television commercials, and in local stores, but haven't really thought too much of them before. I only have a toddler, so we aren't really to the stage of arts and crafts beyond coloring, but when I was contacted to do a review and giveaway for Bendaroos, I decided to give it a try. Bendaroos are basically long, colored strings coated with a special wax that you bend, fold, and wrap to create whatever you can think up. They stick to almost any surface, without leaving a residue, so no clean-up! I love the creative freedom that Bendaroos allow.

I received the Mega Pack of Bendaroos, that has a total of 500 sticks in 12 different colors. I was a little overwhelmed with the possibilities, so I did one of the basic designs from the included guide card. It was kind of fun to wind and wrap, and see my creation coming together, but the Bendaroos are stickier than I thought they would be. I'm such a girl, and I had to keep a wipe next to me, because I didn't like the sticky feeling on my fingers. :) My husband was way more impressive and did the 3D pig. I think its adorable! It took him awhile, but he didn't think it was too hard, and Max loved both of them. He destroyed my bear pretty easily though.

One lucky Mommy Loves Giveaways readers will win a box of Bendaroos!

Mandatory: To be entered, visit Bendaroos and tell me something you might try to build if you won.

Giraffes and Stuff Review and Giveaway

One of my favorite things to do is window-shop online for nursery decor. I love planning rooms in my head, and my very favorite plans include modern patterns and bold, fun colors. Giraffes and Stuff is an Etsy shop that has the same ideas! You can find growth charts, prints, canvas, and wall decals in coordinating patterns to create your perfect nursery.

I love the polka-dot style Connect the Dots canvas growth chart. The colors are so fun, yet not too much for a baby's room. I also love that the style can transition with baby to toddler and up.

And how cute is this Royal Birdy Modern Keepsake Print? I love the pink, but you can choose from twenty different colors, to match your color scheme. What a sweet way to preserve your baby's birthdays stats.
I love, love, LOVE this Air Adventures Canvas Art. I love the simplicity of the piece, and think this would be such a cool theme for a boy's room.

Giraffes and Stuff sent me the Baby Pink Giraffe Growth Chart for review. I love it! It's printed on canvas, with grommets in each corner for hanging. This growth chart will definitely stand the test of time, and last through all the years you are measuring your child. The numbers measure from 24 inches all the way to 60 inches, and there is a place to add name and date. The giraffe is too cute for words, I love her makeup and bow, and that long, long neck that stretches through the clouds. We are kind of a monkey-house here, but I'm starting to become pretty fond of the giraffe. I only wish we had the blue one, since I don't think Max will be too crazy about pink the in the next few years.

One lucky Mommy Loves Giveaways readers will win a pink or blue Giraffe Baby Growth Chart too!

Mandatory: To be entered, visit Giraffes and Stuff and tell me your favorite item.

Redsnapper

I want to introduce you to a new baby onesie shop, Redsnapper. Redsnapper was created when a husband and wife team discovered how frustrating onesies can be to get the right snaps together, with their first baby. Their onesies have patented red, center snap so you always get the snaps matched on the first try. Genius! I also love, love, love their modern, trendy designs. Check out their website, along with their Twitter and Facebook pages.

Which ones are on the top of your wish list?

simplehuman Review

I have a confession to make. I am an organizational freak. I am constantly buying baskets, tubs, bowls, hampers, drawers, anything I can possibly find to keep things in nice, neat groups. My dream home will include a place for everything, and everything in it's place. That includes labels and maybe even some color coordination. I know of one company, simplehuman, that helps create a little order in your home. I have seen some products before, in my local stores, but I had no idea how many different products they carried.

simplehuman sent me a sink caddy and sink mat to review. Unfortunately, the mat is a little too big for my crappy, rental apartment sink. I'm bummed, because I can tell the mat is really great quality. The top has a soft rubber lining, to prevent chipping glasses, and the tray is raised to help drain water to prevent mildew. The sink caddy is almost too tall for my lame sink, but I have made it work, because I am that determined to have organization. The caddy has not only a wire ledge hanger, but also four suction cups to keep it secured. There is an extendable brush holder, that adjusts to the length of your brush, and a removeable blastic divider for spondges. There are plenty of drain holes so your products are sitting in water. I also love that it's rust-proof. I'm sad that I can't use these super-awesome products the way I really want to, but I know that when we move, both of these products will help me achieve my dream kitchen.

Baby Sweet Treats Review and Giveaway

Baby Sweet Treats has the cutest baby products disguised as your favorite "sweet treats!" The idea is so cute and original, and I love that you get fuction on top of that! You can get onesie lollipop, diaper cupcakes, and lollipop blankets, just to name a few. How cute are they?!

I received a pink washcloth sock cupcake. I absolutely loved the presentation. It came in it's own "bakery" box, nestled in a cupcake wrapper. The cupcake was created by a pair of pink girl socks, wrapped by two pink wash cloths, and embellished by a bright red strawberry. I actually think these would be the cutest baby shower decorations, that you can then gift to the mom-to-be, because you can never have too many socks or washcloths!

Win it!!
One lucky Mommy Loves Giveaways readers will win a washcloth flower bouquet!

Mosie Posie Papers Review and Giveaway

I came across the Etsy shop Mosie Posie Papers, and I instantly fell in love. Every single item used bold fun colors, patterns, fonts and images and everything was totally my style. I want one of each! Also, shout out to another Kansan!

This sweet custom birth print is so girly and perfect. All that pink!! And you can even buy the pink and black matte too! I love every single thing about it.

Ohh these giraffe notecards make my uterus ache. Is that weird to say? I love the all lowercase letters, but that giraffe! I seriously want to just put him in my pocket. While I have another baby, so I can use those cards for thank you's.

I also love these modern birth announcements. You can get them to match the print, and if you buy announcements in the month of August, you get the 8x10 matching print free!

Tara from Mosie Posie sent me this super cute A to Z print, personalized with Max's name and, of course, I had to pick the monkey. (Max already has a million monkeys.) (Although, I was thisclose to getting that darn giraffe.) I was super impressed with the quality of the paper and printing. I apologize for the poor quality picture. It does NOT do justice to my actual print. My darn camera is still busted, and we haven't been able to replace it, so you get my phone camera, instead. But trust me, it's awesome. I bought a semi-cheap frame at Wal-Mart, but it looks awesome. (Although now, I am wishing I would have bought one of the cloth mattes and splurged on a funky frame. Maybe one of these days...) I hung it over Max's changing table, and we sing the ABC song while we change his diapers. (I love that it reminds me to sing the song, so one of these days he will know his ABC's.) Max loves to point out letters, and LOVES that monkey!

Win it!!
One lucky Mommy Loves Giveaways readers will win an A to Z personalized print too!

Mandatory: To be entered, visit the Mosie Posie and tell me your favorite item.

My Baby Clothes Boutique: Always Be Prepared

(submitted by Signe Whitson with My Baby Clothes Boutique)

Always Be Prepared: Stocking Up on Fabulous Baby Gifts

My mom has a special section of her basement that I call “The Store.” She is a shopper by nature and a bargain-hunter extraordinaire. When she sees a sale, she stocks up, whether she needs the item or not. “You have to spend money to save money” she likes to say. Whenever she needs a baby gift, birthday gift, or any other type of gift in a pinch, she just checks out “The Store’s” inventory—her personal warehouse of perfect gift items—because “you just never know when you’ll need a gift.”

It’s important to listen to your mother. So, I have begun construction (e.g. shifted around boxes) on “The Boutique,” my own personal inventory of readily-available gifts for those moments that when a friend with a baby drops by unexpectedly or I do not have time to go shopping for the kid’s birthday party that comes up suddenly. The Boutique is not overstocked—I do like to personalize gifts when I can--but it is designed with versatility in mind (gifts that all Moms will appreciate) and organized by age (so that I am prepared from Baby Shower to pre-school graduation). Here are some of its featured items:

In the Newborn Department (aka top shelf), I like to have on hand adorable 3-piece layette sets in pink and blue along with keepsakes like personalized embroidered diaper covers and baby booties.

In the Toddler Section: Moms of kids this age are usually focused on clothes with good “wear and tear” value, so I like to make gifts of fabulous items they wouldn’t ordinarily buy, like tutu dresses and petticoats. It’s never too early to be fancy!

In the Pre-School Area, I make sure to stock toys! A classic rocking horse, little stuffed animals, and Mother Goose gift sets are always winners among the 3-5 year old crowd!

For boys, I love to buy anything with a “Prince” theme since the rough and tumble crowd does seem to get a kick out of having a role in the usually girl-dominated fairy-tale play. I also keep my share of cowboy accessories and baseball outfits. Did I mention hats for boys? They are a can’t-miss gift item that I always have available, just in case!

For girls, I am always keeping my eyes out for trendy accessories like large-flowered headbands, colorful, loopy bows, animal print clips, and floppy sun hats. Tunics and legging sets are also year-round favorites and big hits with Moms and kids alike.

The boutique in my basement is a great place for stocking can’t-pass-up sale items and hard-to-resist baby gifts that I know I will have the occasion to give…probably when I least expect it!

Fashion Touch Review and Giveaway

Elena from Fashion Touch hand knits some of the most amazing baby products that made the cutest photo props. Seriously, her work is stunning, bright bold colors, fun, and should be in magazines! I want one of everything. It was a nearly-impossibly task picking just four items for my overview. I really want one of the mohawk hats for Max. He would totally rock it, especially for his two-year pictures... And the teeny-tiny flower headbands are too sweet. I really want one of the fringe blankets for baby #2's newborn photo shoot (whenever I have a baby #2, that is!)

Elena sent me this adorable Jester baby hat. It's navy blue, with multi-colored tassels and trim along the bottom. The multi-colored parts are sooo soft. I love the fun splash of color. The quality is amazing, and I adore handmade products. You can absolutely feel the little touch of love. :) This little hat totally has me itching for baby #2. I can just picture it making the cutest newborn pictures.

Win it!!
One lucky Mommy Loves Giveaways readers will win a beanie in your color/gender choice (from here or here) !

Mandatory: To be entered, visit the Fashion Touch and tell me your favorite item.
