Ma Mi Skin Care Satiated Review!

I've never had a problem with dry skin before, in fact my skin use to be a little on the oily side. Then I got pregnant with my second son and my skin changed drastically. It became extremely dry and patchy during pregnancy, but luckily after having my baby, my dry skin wasn't as bad. Now that I have dry skin, I'm constantly on the hunt for good moisturizers. I recently discovered a line of natural skin care products target especially for moms called Ma Mi Skin Care.

About Ma Mi:
  • No Toxins
  • No Parabens
  • No Filters
  • No Petrolatums
  • No Sodium Laureth
"With Ma Mi, your skin receives everything it needs and nothing it doesn't; our products contain pure, highly concentrated active ingredients that produce quick, visible results. In a few simple steps you an experience dramatic, positive changes in your skins health and appearance."
I was able to choose which product I was interested in reviewing and since I'm always looking for a good moisturizer I choose Satiated. Satiated is a moisturizer for Normal to Dry skin and is a blend of Jojoba oil, Hyaluronic acid, and Apricot Kernel oil.
I received my Satiated moisturizer in a cute sheer purple organza bag. The bottle is 1 FL oz, a little small, but can be easily carried around in your purse. It has a pump (not shown in picture) for easy application. Satiated has a nice feel to it, it's not thick and greasy at all. I'm always worried about overly greasy moisturizers because I still break out like a teenager (sigh, my skin is crazy like that). I had no worries putting Satiated on, and it absorbed quickly into my skin. Satiated left my skin feeling nice and smooth. I especially like that it has a very very light scent, practically no scent. I really hate moisturizers that have way too much fragrance and smell like cheap perfume. I do wish Satiated contained SPF. Even without the SPF, so far I like it, it's too early to tell if there are any changes in my skin, but it's nice to wear.

Woohoo! I'm a Nutrisystem Nation Blogger!

I am super duper excited! Seriously, I'm smiling from ear to ear and I may or may not have just done a little dance! I have been accepted into the Nutrisystem Blogger Nation Program. For the next 4 months, Nutrisystem will be sponsoring me with their Women's Select Program, and I will be sharing my weight loss journey with you! I am so excited for this opportunity!

I've always struggled with my weight growing up, and just recently I stopped fighting. I stopped watching what I ate, I stopped getting on the scale, I just got tired of it. I hate that I gave up, but now I'm ready to make the necessary changes in my life!

Check out some of the yummy food choices:

I've already picked out my foods for the first month, it was actually fun because Nutrisystem has so many choices. I think I spent most of my decision making in the dessert area, it wasn't hard at all with so many yummy looking choices. Let's just say I'm going to be having chocolate practically every night...and at the same time (crossing my fingers) losing weight!

I'll also be tweeting about my Nutrisystem experience, feel free to follow me on twitter: @lovesgiveaways

Cutting Board USA review!

This is kind of embarrassing to admit but (before this review) I didn't own a cutting board! My husband and I kept saying we needed to buy one but we never got around to it. We've been cutting our meat on sheet pans and plates, and it's such a hassle. So I was happy when I got the opportunity to do a review on a cutting board from Cutting Board USA.

Cutting Board USA sells Walnut and Maple wood cutting boards made in Vermont, USA. Many of their cutting boards come in unique and fun shapes.

I was able to choose which cutting board I wanted to review, and although I wanted a cool looking puzzle one, I chose the large wooden cutting board with handle. I chose the large cutting board with the handle since this is our first cutting board, because we don't have a lot of space and because I like the handle! The large wooden cutting board is made from 100% maple wood, and is 10.5" wide, 16" long, and 3/4" thick. It's a really good size cutting board. It's also reversible with one side having a liquid groove.

I love the look of the maple wood and that the cutting board is nice and sturdy. I also like that one side has the liquid groove, perfect for cutting meats, and also a great way to remember which side you use for meat and which side you use for vegetables and other dry products. The website recommends keeping your cutting board oiled, to help prevent cracks. The oil is not included (would be nice!) but you can buy it from Cutting Board USA or you can use Walnut or Almond oil (beware of nut allergies). I really like my cutting board, it looks and feels like high quality.

Crest and Oral-B Review and Giveaway!

As a parent, I know how hard it can be to get your kids to brush their teeth, and brush them right! I have a 15-month old who's getting all his baby teeth and a 7 year old who's getting his adult teeth. I really need to be on it to make sure their teeth stay healthy, but it helps to have great brands like Crest and Oral-B provide quality oral care products for kids.

Oral-B Stages:
"Fifty years of expertise tells us that children have unique needs throughout every period of growth. With that in mind, we specially design our Stages toothbrushes for each stage."

Crest & Oral-B Pro-Health For Me:

"The first-ever complete collection of oral care products for kids 8-12, with rinse, brush, floss, and toothpaste made just for them. Soon, they'll be brushing and rinsing for fun. Seriously."
I received the Oral-B stages line for stages 1 (4 to 24 months) and 3 (5-7 years) and the Crest & Oral-B Pro-Health For Me Regimen (8-12 years) for review. The stage 1 toothbrush we received had baby Winnie the Pooh on it and came in gender neutral colors. It's chunky and smaller, making it perfect for little hands. I really like the soft bristles. My 15 month old didn't like me trying to stick it in his mouth but he did try using it as a brush! The Oral-B stages toothbrushes are perfect for kids, since they have soft bristles and have Disney characters on them.
I expected my 7 year old to be excited about his Oral-B stages 3 line, which came with a Cars toothbrush, Toys Story 3 Floss and toothpaste but he was actually more excited about the Crest & Oral-B Pro-Health For Me Regimen. He liked that he had his own "grown up" looking toothpaste, mouthwash, floss, and toothbrush and that they all all had cool matching designs. Right away he wanted to brush his teeth and try out the whole regimen! Seriously, I've never seen my kid so excited to brush his teeth. He's pretty proud that he has a whole line of products all for himself.

I think both the Oral-B Stages and the Crest & Oral-B Pro-Health For Me Regimen are great. I really like the Crest & Oral-B Pro-Heath Regimen, I think it's a really good idea to have an oral care line aimed at tweens. I know my son loves the idea of having his own products, that he doesn't have to share with anyone.

One lucky Mommy Loves Giveaways reader will win an Oral-B Stages line and Crest & Oral-B Pro-Health For Me regimen!

ZeroWater Filtered Pitcher Review!

We don't drink the tap water in our house. Not only does it tastes gross, but every month our water bill comes with a letter letting us know that our town's water has high levels of arsenic. Which, I don't want to drink or let my kids drink. So we buy gallons of water just about everyday and it really adds up. So when I had the chance to review the ZeroWater Pitcher I jumped on it!
"ZeroWater's in-home water filtration system uses sophisticated technologies. The system uses dual ion exchange to remove virtually all dissolved solids from tap water. It is the only filtered water that removes virtually all dissolved solids, meeting the FDA's requirement for dissolved solids in purified bottled water. ZeroWater is also the only pitcher filter to receive NSF International's certification for Chromium-6 and lead reduction."

I received the 10 cup ZeroWater Pitcher for review. When I opened the box I was excited to see that my pitcher included a TDS (Total dissolved solids) water testing meter. Truthfully, the water testing meter is what really caught my whole family's attention. Everyone (including my 7 year old) wanted to test the tap water, bottle water water, and of course the water that came out of the ZeroWater pitcher. I love that that the water meter was included (separately its $30) because it really showed us and made us believe that there are differences in the water.
Our tap water read 235, our bottle water read 001, and our ZeroWater pitcher water read 000! It was pretty amazing to see proof that the ZeroWater filtered pitcher really works. We had so much fun testing the water at our house we took it to my mom's house to test their water. Her tap water read similar to ours (obviously same town), but shockingly her filtered water read 195!!! My mom and dad were shocked.

I am very impressed with the ZeroWater filtered pitcher and love that it comes with a water meter. We're going to stick with using our ZeroWater pitcher for a while and see how long our filters last (since our area has high TDS readings it will reduce filter life more quickly) and compare the cost of ZeroWater filters to buying water gallons.

Curious about how much TDS (Total Dissolved Solids, or contaminants) are in your town's water? Visit ZeroWater's homepage where you can enter your zipcode to view-user submitted TDS readings in your area. Feel free to share with me, I'm very interested in knowing!

    System Mechanic 10.5 Review!

I love my laptop, love love love it, but recently it was getting on my nerves. It started running extremely slow and had been having a horrible lag. I was pretty disappointed since it's only a year and half old. I use my laptop for everything, especially work, so it's really needed, but I hated the thought of having to buy a new one so soon. Luckily, I was introduced to System Mechanic 10.5 a PC program that fixes and speeds up your computer automatically.

The all-in-one solution for ultimate PC performance:
    • Fixes errors, crashes and freezes
    • Boosts Internet speeds
    • Speeds up Windows start time
    • Restores system stability
    • Cleans out clutter and junk files
    • Prevents slowdowns and bottlenecks
    • Clears out private data
    • Improves gaming experience

I've never used any kind of tune-up software before, but with my laptop driving me crazy, I was excited to try out System Mechanic. I was able to download the software off the iolo website and start using it right away. I'm no tech expert, but System Mechanic is very user friendly. As soon as you open the program it'll let you know the health of your computer. It will also give you the options to "repair all" or to "view problems". I like to view the problems first. Here is a recent screen shoot of my computer's health status. It says System Status is Fair, and that 2 problems are lowering my systems status:
After viewing the problems, I can choose to repair them all or individually. It's that easy! System Mechanic 10.5 has lots of great features. Another one I like is being able to view the history of actions. It lists what System Mechanic has recently done:
My computer is running so much better now that I have System Mechanic 10.5. Whenever I feel my computer's starting to slow down again, I just recheck the health status and fix the problems! I am really happy with System Mechanic 10.5.

Make sure you keep reading Mommy Loves Giveaways because next week we'll be giving away a copy of System Mechanic 10.5!!

    ShaToBu Review and Giveaway!

Do you know the secret to looking good in your clothes? Well, besides diet and exercise, it's a good body shaper! Seriously, wearing a body shaper under your clothes is a great way to get a sleeker silhouette and smooth out any bulges.

ShaToBu (tummy shaping, muscle toning, calorie burning) is the revolutionary shaper that helps women shape, tone and burn more calories during everyday activities. ShaToBu shapers have seamless resistance bands on them, making your muscles work a little harder doing everyday activities, such as walking or climbing stairs.

The ShaToBu website is easy to use and I really like that they have a size chart available. I received the ShaToBu Waist to Knee Shaper (the last one of the three pictures) for review. I'm not on the small side, so when I opened my package and seen how tiny the shaper was I knew it was going to be a battle putting it on. Surprisingly, it wasn't that difficult to put on, it wasn't easy, but not as bad as I expected. Once I had my ShaToBu on I was really happy about how comfortable it was, it's really light and breathable. ShaToBu is made of Nylon and Lycra which is what makes the shapers so cool and comfortable feeling. I've used other shapers before that felt really compressed and left me feeling hot and sweaty, but thankfully ShaToBu isn't one of them. My favorite part about ShaToBu (besides looking slimmer!) are the resistance bands, I like that I can burn more calories just by wearing the shaper. I plan to wear mine under my clothes at work and hopefully burn a few extra calories.

One lucky Mommy Loves Giveaways reader will win a ShaToBu shaper of their own!

Where to buy: You can purchase ShaToBu body shaper at ShaToBu.

    To Win:

Mandatory entry: Follow Mommy Loves Giveaways publicly on Google Friend Connect, and leave a comment with your name and email.
